Families turned out in force for our annual summer fun day, which was another big success.
After it was re-scheduled from July due to the bad weather, we held it on Saturday 2 September.
For this year’s farm-themed event, the sun was shining, and it was a beautiful day. We had a bouncy castle, a tractor, miniature horse petting, music, and lots of hay bales for added farm effect. There were also various activities set up that the children could get involved in such as t-shirt designing, mask making and sensory activities.
The children loved Tiny the miniature horse. He was very friendly, who loved letting all the children stroke him and then the children were each able to take it in turns to hold his reins and walk him around the garden. The children also enjoyed hopping onto the tractor and pretending to drive it.
Katie, our chef, also prepared a great packed lunch full of delicious treats served in farm lunch boxes and there were cakes, biscuits, tea, and coffee available for the parents.
The event was a remarkable success, the children were all playing, and the atmosphere was relaxed with everyone mingling and enjoying being part of the nursery.
We raised a huge £600 which is amazing, and it will be put towards the development of the garden, outdoor area and play equipment, as we are in communication with a number of companies to do the design, manufacture, and installation of the entire process.
Our raffle was extremely popular as we had some top prizes to win which we drew at the end of the event. This included an overnight stay at any Roomzzz Aparthotel, a Tatton Park family voucher, £100 skincare voucher and Rum from Knots Rum, to name a few!
